BasandSyb Posted May 24, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 24, 2018 We have just been advised of Kobe-Vancouver 2019 itinerary changes. The cruise is being extended by 2 days to 7 June. Don't know what the knock-on effect will be for the following cruises - perhaps someone else has the detail on this. Glad we haven't booked our air travel yet as that would have been most annoying! We've been cruising for a while and have had itinerary and port changes previously, but never additional days. Revised part of the itinerary: DATE DAY DESTINATION 05/31 Fri Scenic cruising Hubbard Glacier 07:00 18:00 06/01 Sat Cruising Icy Strait 06/02 Sun Scenic cruising Tracy Arm / Endicott Arm 07:00 15:00 06/03 Mon Transit Decision Passage Cruising Sumner Strait Wrangell, AK, USA 07:00 20:00 06/04 Tue Cruising Clarence Strait Ketchikan, AK, USA 08:00 21:00 06/05 Wed Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Canada 08:00 18:00 06/06 Thu Scenic cruising The Inside Passage 06/07 FRI VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA 07:
Mr Luxury Posted May 24, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 24, 2018 It is over a year away so there is time to adjust things Sent from my SM-G955F using Forums mobile app
markham Posted May 24, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 24, 2018 Two extra days complimentary?! Sounds good to me. And airlines don't sell tickets more than a year in advance- so you are not being inconvenienced anyway. Happy and healthy sailing!
BasandSyb Posted May 25, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted May 25, 2018 We do when using points to get the flights and airlines to suit us or if using a 12 month business/1st advance fare. There is usually some minor tinkering with timetables booking this far out, but it works well. Have been looking at options but haven't locked anything in yet. The bonus two days was a nice surprise. SoBaycruiser Posted May 25, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 25, 2018 Sounds like this is in response to the delays occurring on this years crossing. Sent from my iPad using Forums

SoBaycruiser Posted May 25, 2018 #7 Share Posted May 25, 2018 What happened? They had rough weather and had to spend an extra day in port. They are missing Icy Strait Point to make up time, but thought they might have further delays if weather had not turned calmer crossing the strait. Lord, Jim! Posted May 31, 2018 #8 Share Posted May 31, 2018 We just booked this cruise, and the dates shown for our itinerary are from May 16th-June 7th. Perhaps earlier bookings showed June 5th? This is our first Seabourn cruise and we are looking forward to it. We have traveled on Viking Sea and Viking Sun (recently on its virgin cruise from Greenwich to Bergen -great itinerary!) and loved both ships. We have also traveled on Oceania twice and on a riverboat cruise with Scenic going from St. Petersburg to Moscow, and a Vantage riverboat cruise from Paris to Normandy and back, all fine trips. However, we were not able to book a port-side penthouse cabin on Viking Orion following roughly the same Japan to Vancouver itinerary as Seabourn Sojourn's, so we decided to go with Seabourn. From all we have read, Seabourn seems to live up to its reputation as a truly luxurious ship, so we are excited to have booked this cruise.:D
jozi Posted June 2, 2018 #9 Share Posted June 2, 2018 Is that why they missed the glacier bay booking? They had rough weather and had to spend an extra day in port. They are missing Icy Strait Point to make up time, but thought they might have further delays if weather had not turned calmer crossing the strait.
