We did catamaran sail and snorkel and it was a blast!!! I’m already back on the ship and about to nap.

Sounds great! Did one of those in St Kitts. Just so glad to see some sun today. :-)

Thank you so much for this review !! Exactly what I need :D we are also doing this exact cruise but in February,

Also our first time in a cove balcony, we are actually booked 3 doors up from you. We are in 2264. Is it possible for you to get a couple pictures from the balcony looking at the port of calls ? My hubby is concerned about what kind of view we will have.

Thank you, looking forward to the rest of your trip review. Wishing you blue skies and calm seas!!

Here’s the view from our balcony in Montego Bay.

I am going on the Dream in 12 days and am curious...who were the Alchemy Bar bartenders?

Thanks!

Brad

On this sailing the Alchemy bartenders are Cesar, Sinan and Anca.

Great! Thanks for the information. I sailed twice with Anca on the Dream last year and had a blast. She is fantastic!

Thanks!

Brad

Thursday, May 31 (Day 5 - Grand Cayman)

We had already anchored and the tenders were alongside when I woke up a little before 7 this morning. Some high clouds but the sun is somewhat coming through. Waters seem pretty calm so I’m guessing the winds are minimal. We are here today with the MSC Armonia, Carnival Miracle and Carnival Conquest.

We are going to try to get ashore if they’ll allow mom’s wheelchair on the tender. Fingers crossed!

If you see a chef's table menu, please post. Thanks

I’ve been looking but no luck yet. They haven’t even advertised it on board.

Glad to hear it’s being shown! My boyfriend would have a heart attack if he isn’t able to watch on cruise on the Glory in 9 days! Looks like game 5 is on the 11, my birthday guess that’s how we will be spending the evening if the series goes [emoji23]

We are doing this cruise next week and my wife also uses a portable wheelchair. Do you know if wheelchairs can be accomadated on the tender to Belize? Like your mother she can walk short distances but could not do a full flight of stairs if the tender platform level can not be accessed without an elevator

I don’t know about Belize but we had no issue with mom’s wheelchair on the tenders today in Grand Cayman. They’re pretty nonspecific about it and just say it’s dependent on the tenders themselves and if conditions are safe enough to allow it. It was a calm day here and the tenders had ramps that were easy enough to navigate.

Thanks for the information. I guess I just assumed you were doing the same ports as we are next week. We get on when you get off.

Thanks for the review! The boyfriend and I will be sailing with my mom on the Dream in October (same itinerary). I was curious about the LGBT gathering myself so I appreciate it. Following along to catch the rest of the cruise!

Friday, June 1 (Day 6 - Cozumel)

It’s just about 8am and we are still making our way to Cozumel (scheduled arrival is 10 am). Yesterday we successfully navigated the tenders with mom’s wheelchair and were able to get to Grand Cayman for a little shopping, wandering around, and lunch. We were back on board by 1:30 or so and since the sun was out I headed up to a fairly empty Serenity and mom took a nap.

Last night was our second elegant night; we opted to stay casual and skip the dining room. I wanted to try Bonsai but mom isn’t a sushi fan so we got her something on Lido and then she went to the casino while I got myself something. I ordered the cold noodle salad and a spicy tuna roll - both of which were excellent and definitely worth the $8.

After I ate I sat at Alchemy and listened to music before checking out the 9:15 showing of Flick in the main theater. It was ok - the singing was great and some of the special effects were cool but definitely enjoyed Motor City more. Got one more drink before picking mom up from the casino and calling it a night.

No big plans again for today - just more wandering and shopping and maybe some lunch off the ship.

Saturday, June 2 (Day 7 - At Sea)

The last day is always somewhat bittersweet, sad for the cruise to be ending but still enjoying the time we do have left. We were up somewhat early today and started with some room service coffee on the balcony. Could already tell the weather was going to be perfect and the seas were nice and calm.

We made our second trip to the sea day brunch - mom had two eggs, sausage, hash browns and toast while I opted for a ham, Swiss and onion omelet and the chicken sausage. It was all delicious. After brunch I dropped mom off in the casino while I found a spot in the sun up on Serenity. Mom was content on the slots for several hours and I was doing my best to soak up as much sun as I could while breaking periodically to check on her, make a Groove for St Jude donation, and trying my luck in the slot tournament (didn’t make the finals). We headed back to the room around 3 and ordered sandwiches from room service and then started packing.

We’ll be heading back out for a bit so mom can hit up the casino for a bit more (hopefully) winning.
