Rare TV Dad Posted May 26, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2018 I am researching a Cunard cruise and hope some past guests can help answer a few questions. The Cunard website mentions complimentary alcoholic beverages for Queens Grille passengers. Does that include free drinks in all the ship's bars, the Grille Lounge, or just the bar set up in the suite? Also does the Queens Grille offer complimentary wine with dinner lunch and dinner? Finally, how extensive is the Queen Victoria wine list?
wolfie789 Posted May 26, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2018 The free drinks just refer to the in suite bar. The Q.V. wine list is extremely extensive and can be accessed on the Cunard website. Enjoy the Queens Grill! Sent from my iPad using Forums
tv24 Posted May 26, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 26, 2018 No free drinks...just the bar set-up in your Queens Grill suite. But the wine list is quite extensive in all classes.
bluemarble Posted May 26, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 26, 2018 TV Dad, Sometimes there are special promotions from Cunard which include "free drinks" for grills passengers. Since you are from the US, the "Big Balcony Event" currently advertised on Cunard's US web site is one such promotion. Here is a partial quote from the terms of that promotion. "The Free Drinks Package offer is applicable only to guests reserving a Princess Grill Suite or Queens Grill Suite on voyages listed under this promotion. The Free Drinks offer applies to all drinks $12 and under purchased on board during the cruise." Also, for your reference, here is a direct link to the QV wine list found on Cunard's UK FAQ site. https://carnivaluk.metafaq.com/resources/carnivaluk/life-on-board/QE_QV_Wine_list.pdf
Adammara Posted May 27, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 27, 2018 We had the 'free' drinks package on our cruise on QE in December, and found that the sommelier and the barman in the Grill Lounge very creative when it came to the $12 limit. When we were booking the cruise with the TA we were unaware of the free drinks deal, and it came as a pleasant surprise. Halfway through the cruise we received a note ' Enjoy your wine package' with the compliments of our TA! I had assumed it was a Cunard deal. BigMac1953 Posted May 27, 2018 #6 Share Posted May 27, 2018 In QG, you have a "free" mini bar, which consists of either 2 x 1 litre of spirits of your choice, or re or white wine. You also have beer and mixers supplied and replenished daily. If you get on well with your butler, then the spirits will be replenished FOC. The wine packages have to be purchased by someone.
