My Time Dining - switch to traditional dining?

Recommended Posts

I’m new here and posted this on the Cruise Foodie Thread. Sorry to double post, but I’m still navigating around the boards.

We are a family of six (4 kids -15,13,9 and 4) and booked a sort of last minute vacay on Oasis. I went ahead and made our MTD dining reservations, but I have a couple of questions.

1. With MTD, are you limited to a specific dining room?

2. Is it possible to change to a traditional seating time once we are on the ship? Has anyone had success with that?

3. With MTD, do you have the same server or is it someone different each meal?

Sorry for so many questions! DH and I went on 3 RC cruises before kids, but it’s been a long time and there have been so many changes. Thanks!

1. Yes

2. Possible. Around 1 p.m. on boarding day, the maître d' will be at his (her) podium at the dining rooms. (there will be a note in your cruise compass) Go there and ask.

3. If you make reservations, and they are at the same time (or around the same time) each night, they try to seat you at the same table with the same servers each evening.

Yes like MM said but your also limited to a specific dining room if you have traditional.

We had MTD on Oasis in April and had the same table and servers 5 out of the 7 nights.

The other 2 nights our table was occupied and we were one table away but different servers. Our servers from the other nights came over and said hello and Rocco the Maitre D stopped by every night to chat.

I am also new to MTD. If you make a reservation ahead of time on the cruise planner can you request table size? Thanks

I just made My Time reservations yesterday (am waitlisted for traditional dining) and there was no place to request table size...just the time you wanted.
