downtown fort lauderdale new hotel

I booked a new fairfield inn at 30 south federal highway, downtown fort lauderdale. It is between SE 1st and SE 2nd/ There are no reviews yet (opening May 31st). The price was great but will I regret the location? 3 nights pre cruise. Plan on walking/using UBER/suntrolley. Any thoughts on the location? thanks

I just checked the Marriott site and there are some reviews. Most said staff unfriendly, dirty but also that it was in a bad area. Might want to check it out since you plan on walking places.

Personally, I would rather be on 17th St. (this is where most cruisers stay) There are tons of hotels on this strip along with tons of restaurants, bars, grocery stores, Dollar store, Ross, on and on. Everything is in walking distance and the cruise port is right there. Most of the hotels have shuttles also, to pick you up at the airport and also take you to the cruise port the day of your cruise.
