Haven't been on the Royal, but when we did it, we just stopped at Passenger Services as soon as we walked on the ship.

You can call the Dine Line (it's that or Room Service), but they tend to be busy and not answer on embarkation day.

IIRC, you can also speak to the head waiter or Maitre D'.

BTW: be sure you bring close toed shoes or you won't be able to do it.

The minute you set foot on the ship, pick up a phone and call the dine line. I mean THE MINUTE....don't wait to have lunch or go to your cabin. You can call from a hall phone. We have done 6 or 7, worth it!

Thought on the Royal specifically, when we have done it, it's been as soon as we boarded at the Passenger Services desk. Tried using the phone at the desk but didn't get an answer so went on line and they took our information.
