E2 vs E3

Hello, can someone please explain the differences between E2 and E3, any pros/cons to consider besides pricing?

It is really just location. Size and amenities are the same. You should look through the latest pages of edge blocks on the house to ensure there is no potential obstruction for E3s.

Looking at all of the E1, 2, 2, 4 cabins, as Sandy said, it looks like location is the big difference (upper decks and mid-ship are often assigned higher classes and prices). These E cabins are all on decks 6, 7, 8 and 9.

It looks like all of the E cabins on deck 9 are all E1's, even the 2 listed as obstructed in the deck plans (only because the cabin next to it protrudes, blocking the view in that direction).

On deck 8 the E1's are mid-ship and the E2's are forward and aft so likely the only difference is the preferred mid-ship location. The 2 on either side of the Magic Carpet are E4's, which makes sense because of probable intermittent obstruction issues.

On deck 7, E1's are right next to the mid-ship elevators, the E2's a little more forward, E3's aft and further forward and E4's again are on either side of the Magic Carpet.

On deck 6, there are mostly E4's (maybe there will be some obstruction of the views because of lifeboats, especially downward?). There are a few E3's mid-ship, except again, the 4 around the Magic Carpet are E4's.

This is a link to deck plans that list the partially obstructed balconies - if you look on page 3, you will see the numbers of these cabins listed in light blue (deck 12's list is on page 2). Many of them are the 4 cabins on each deck around the Magic Carpet track and the rest seem to be due to the different elevations of the cabins, leaving some obstruction of the view to one side due to the cabin next door being the first to project outward.

Except for the Magic Carpet E cabins (2 on each side of the MC tracks on decks 6,7 and 8), the E cabins on the partial obstruction list didn't seem to be assigned a lower E class. They seem to be the same as the surrounding E cabins.

It looks like, when choosing an E cabin, people should look at the locations (and for obstructions) and decide if it is worth it to pay more to be mid-ship or on a higher deck. It appears that the balconies and cabin sizes will be similar, but we won't really know until reports start filtering back in December. :D

I think the E4s on deck 6 are located near lifeboats as well as on either side of MC. We actually have an E3 (6211) for a cruise and it appears to be just in front of the last set of lifeboats on the port side. I am hoping that the davit does not disrupt view too much, but having stayed in similar cabin on S class, I am not too concerned. If you think of it on a per deck basis... the E3 is the best located E cabins on deck 6... center of ship and generally away from the lifeboats... Compared to say deck 7, the deck six E3 are not as desirable... as the deck 7 E2s because they are lower down. On deck 7 the E3 are not as desirable as the E2 which are now midship and the E3 are front and aft. The deck E1s are more desirable than E2 because they jut out some giving a slightly different view. It is really hard to decipher their cabin grading logic... but if you look deck to deck you can see that it appears they try to rank them by what is best on each deck. This is why it is hard to look across multiple decks to figure out what is going on. Despite their cabin grading, any cabin immediately next to section that juts out will have some impact on their view. Most of the sections that stick out...only do so about 4 feet or so... One thing I did notice is that on the starboard side it is going to be difficult to see the flying bridge from cabins aft the magic carpet area. The MC area that juts out... really appears to impact the view forward for a number of cabins... not just the ones immediately next to it.. At least that is how it looks from the deck plan for deck 11. Not really a big deal, unless you like to watch the bridge when pulling into port. I am sure the cabins are all lovely and most don't spend so much time there that a slightly different view makes a difference. But without ever seeing the ship ..it is fun to speculate on its design.
