Spin bikes on Carnival Splendor?

We're leaving this Saturday on the Splendor and one of our group does spin classes daily. Does anyone know if you can use the spin bikes on the Splendor without taking a class? Or, do you have to take one of the spin classes in order to use the bike? Second, does anyone know if the pedals accommodate clip-on shoes? If not, obviously she won't bring them. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that the spin bikes are reserved for the classes. Of course, they have some of the old style bikes in the gym, but that doesn't sound like what you're looking for.

When my hubby tried to use the spin bikes, they would not let him - said they were for classes only. I don't recall what ship it was on, but I would think they would all be the same.

To the OP I would still try. Heck the worst they can say is NO.

On the Breeze and Vista and IIRC, on the Dream, the spin bikes are in a separate room/area and are locked up. I much prefer using the spin cycles than the Lifecyle bikes, but unless you sign up for a class it's out of the question.

I sailed the Dream this past January and was allowed (actually encouraged) to use the spin bikes as long as there were no classes (spin or Yoga which also uses that room) going on. I rode daily.

They should have some of these bikes near the buffet. You could load up your tray & pedal while you eat & never gain weight.
