Sorry, I misunderstood. Yes you can purchase beverage cards in set denominations. The alcoholic drinks for decent (not very high end) brands are about $9.00 with an automatic 15% gratuity added on. So you can pre-purchase the cards or just “pay as you go” and they will be on your final invoice. The cost would be the same either way.

After our TA on Koningsdam, I vowed not to sail HAL again due to the smoking policy. Smoke was very intrusive emanating from the casino.

 

Based on these posts the Niew Amsterdam is smoke free in the casino so we are booking a December cruise with them. We are 3 Star but have sailed Celebrity lately where we are Elite+. Except for the smoking policy we consider these 2 lines interchangeable. Both have excellent service. Both have high points. Won't have a bad cruise on either. We'll see.
