Nurse Mom Posted June 28, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 28, 2018 What is the current bag policy, or in your recent visit experience, for the Colosseum, Vatican (Sistine and St Peters Basilica), Pantheon, and St Mark's Basilica?
Rare cruisemom42 Posted June 28, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 28, 2018 I can't speak for St. Mark's, but this is the current situation in Rome: Small personal bags are okay in almost any venue (e.g., a purse or small camera bag, potentially a small daypack). For the Colosseum and Vatican they have become stricter and backpacks and even large daypacks may not be allowed -- you would have to check them. Also for those two sites, bags are searched. For the Pantheon I did not note any particular security, e.g., searching of bags or people being told that bags were too large -- however, I wouldn't push the limits. caripoo Posted June 29, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 29, 2018 No big bags in St. Marks either
gchen Posted July 4, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 4, 2018 I was able to take my large purse into all of those sites. St. Mark’s was strictest as you had to check-in backpacks in a locker. Also, make sure you have something to cover shoulders and knees if necessary.
trishalyn78 Posted July 5, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 5, 2018 What about diaper bags (backpack version). Any experience with this?
