ALS1214 Posted June 29, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 29, 2018 First time in Bahamas on NCL Gem and planned a dolphin encounter. Weather is showing thunder daily. How predictable is it? I know tropical places can have quick passing showers. I’m hoping this is the case as I’m really looking forward to the dolphins. Sent from my iPad using Forums I’d be shocked if rainy weather ruined your day in the Bahamas. There’s always the chance of a shower or storm, but you’re right...they usually pass quickly. On my cruise last August we were to have rain at every port. Not one drop. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
cruiseapril Posted July 3, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 3, 2018 In case of very rainy weather- don't they cancel and return payment?
myfuzzy Posted July 3, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 3, 2018 In case of very rainy weather- don't they cancel and return payment? Maybe for a hurricane, but rain there is part of daily life...
Rare CruisinCrow Posted July 3, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 3, 2018 I know Blue Lagoon does their encounters rain or shine. I'm sure they have exceptions if there is close lightning or if it's too rough for the ferries to run safely.
Rare CruisinCrow Posted July 3, 2018 #6 Share Posted July 3, 2018 When is your cruise, ALS? The 10-day forecast for Nassau is looking pretty good but really, any forecasts beyond 3 days aren't very accurate. Rain showers are very normal in the Bahamas in the summer and don't usually last all day. Unless the forecast says 80-90% chance of rain, I wouldn't worry. :)
OCruisers Posted July 3, 2018 #7 Share Posted July 3, 2018 It's rather normal to have a bit of rain that doesn't last long ... unless a tropical storm is involved. Enjoy! :D
ALS1214 Posted July 5, 2018 Author #8 Share Posted July 5, 2018 Leaving on July 14th so still a ways off. I’m so looking forward to this cruise I don’t think a shower will ruin it. [emoji4] Sent from my iPad using Forums
