Grandma Dazzles Posted July 12, 2018 #26 Share Posted July 12, 2018 :DOnce you're feeling more comfortable with the ship and destination, your next thoughts should be about the logistics of bathroom / shower / mirror time, unless you and your girls are all low maintenance.” 😀 Good thing to think about! We’ll see if we can work out a schedule! Have not sailed your particular ship, but most cruise ship cabin bathrooms are very small. Usually they are strictly for showering. No electrical outlets, except for razors. Most hair "stuff" usually has to be done in the cabin in front of the desk mirror. Don't overlook the gym as a possible shower location if you are pushed. Z'Loth Posted July 14, 2018 #27 Share Posted July 14, 2018 How about a pre-cruise discussion with the girls setting down both the expectations and rules as well as planning on what to do at each port? Some of the items could include: Passports (not required, but recommended) Some ground rules and general expectations (no drugs, no booze, safety stuff, when you will be on board ship) as well as a reminder of ship time vs shore time differences, and how they should not try the cruise ship sport of Pier Running Cell phone use (see this article from Cruise Critic) and WiFi use (see this article from Cruise Critic). Remember, the smart phone is also a camera for taking memories. If you use mobile data on a cruise ship, the charges REALLY add up, and shipboard WiFi is expensive. However, there are ways to download music and movies, then play them back in airplane mode. Collaborate and plan on what to do at each port as well as the travel before/after the cruise. The girls may have some really good ideas Purchase a non-alcoholic package SUNSCREEN
fatcat04 Posted July 14, 2018 #28 Share Posted July 14, 2018 Except that many insurance policies do not cover the insured on the ship or in a foreign country. A travel policy for an 18 yo should be relatively cheap. Yep dirt cheap and worth it just in case.

You may be covered in port or be able to buy a plan that will. The ship is another matter. Unexpected cell phone charges can be very shocking and huge. I don't know NCLs internet packages but I bet there is a thread on that board about it.
SRF Posted July 14, 2018 #30 Share Posted July 14, 2018 One thing with trip insurance, I have found you can get medical and evac and the ancilliary coverage very cheap, if you opt to NOT cover the cruise cost. Some companies will allow you to enter $0 for the trip cost. You would not be reimbursed for cancellation of the cruise, but you are covered for the other things. I got 12 days of coverage for a land trip for $50.
