TEGL Posted July 14, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2018 Would we be able to manage visiting Icacos or Palomino Island with only 7 hours in port? Or would that be pushing it?
Aviator of the Seas Posted July 16, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 16, 2018 It's a one hour drive to Fajardo. If you're taking one of the many sailing catamarans that go there, they usually leave at 9:30, the sail is about 45 minutes. Then they sail back around 3:00 PM, back at the marina by 4:00, for another one hour drive back to San Juan (assuming no issues with traffic on the road). You'd be pushing it. Markmom18 Posted August 3, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 3, 2018 We've vacationed onsite at the Las Casitas Villas, which is part if the Conquistador Resort. That was in 2016. We were told that Palomino Island is only for guests of the Resort & the Villas. We went by the Resort Ferry a few times. Had a great time! Now, we did see a very very small "island" pretty close to the Palamino Island when we there for a beach day. Just a pretty white sandy place that boats would pull up to, didn't seem to stay too long. No facilities, no shade, but looked very Beach pretty. I'm curious if this is the Palomino Island Tour? :) Bobbi
puertorican Posted August 12, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 12, 2018 Sorry but knowing the traffic here you will not have the time, but in case you return with more time, there are local boats, like water taxis, that you can hire and they take you to any of the islands; Icacos, Palomino or Palominito (this is the small one referred earlier), for your information they are located in the Las Croabas area in Fajardo, remember there is no facilities on the islands, you have to bring your cooler with water or refreshments and your food. Palomino used to have facilities since El Conquistador Resort have it rented for its use, but the resort is still closed for refurbishments after Hurricane Maria. If you are interested in going to the beach there are some closer to San Juan that you can visit with plenty of time to spare. Hope this helps you!!!
