Train To Florence from Civitavecchia Port

Greetings from CANADA! Looking for recommendations on how to get to Florence from Port of Civitavecchia. Preference is not to rent a car and drive. Has anyone taken the train? If the ship arrives in port at 5 am, what is the earliest train we could book?

For the schedule, go to trenitalia.com and look at a month from now. That will give you an idea.

 

I wouldn't try for a train before 8am. Docking at 5am doesn't mean getting off at 5:15. No real reason to go much before 8am, unless you have something particular in mind.

 

Look around the board. There are MANY threads on taking trains in Italy. It is pretty easy, but you need to understand a few things, like validating your ticket.
