Spa Balcony Upgrade Question

We just accepted an offer to upgrade to a spa balcony on deck 14 of the Vista from a deck 6 regular balcony. We are very excited!

 

Someone just told me that some people have gotten the upgrade and then later found out that it did not include the normal benefits that are offered for spa rooms (like the thermal suite use). My question is have any of you encountered this before?? I have contacted my PVP, but he can be slow getting back to me sometimes.

I've never heard that, doesn't make sense, otherwise, why change? I would just call Carnival and ask, I don't have the patience to wait for a specific person to call me back.

The only time I heard that is when people got free cruises from playing in the casino.

I think that if you got a free upgrade that you wouldn't get the extras, but if you paid for the upgrade you should get them. When Carnival called us to "upsell" we were told that we got the amenities!

Thank you disneylover89 and jc4me. That makes sense. I just called the regular carnival number and was eventually told that we will be receiving all the amenities and extras!

We paid for an upgrade and our understanding is that we will get the benefits.

We paid for the upgrade to spa balcony a few days ago as well (on the Sunshine) and are looking forward to trying out all the spa benefits! I have also heard that if it's a casino free upgrade they aren't included but the paid upgrades include all the spa benefits!

Access to the thermal suite and Thalassotherapy pool on ships that have them. If the ship doesn't have the Cloud 9 Spa, they don't have the thermal suite, but the Vista's T-pool is tiny and inadequate IMO. If you Google the ship name with Cloud 9 Spa you can see pics of what each ship offers.

We got upgraded to a spa balcony on the Conquest once - got absolutely NO spa priviliges

I received a free balcony casino offered cabin on the Sunshine. I called to upgrade to a spa cabin and was told that the free balcony cabins are for a select promotion and upgrades to a spa cabin are not possible. Guess I’ll be paying for use of the spa. Can’t wait!!!!
