Shortycruiser Posted August 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 16, 2018 Hello All, we are cruising in November and will be stopping in Punta Cana. Would greatly appreciate any feedback if you have taken the shore excursion; Coffee, Rum, Chocolate and Shopping. How long to get there and how long at each stop. Was it worth the trip? We are also thinking of going to enjoy the beach and see the airplanes at Maho? Does anyone know if the beach has been destroyed from the hurricane last year and are the big jets still flying. Are we better off to just take a taxi to the beach or the shore excursion? Appreciate any and all feedback - Shortycruiser
4774Papa Posted August 16, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 16, 2018 Not sure where Punta Cana is, but suggest you go to the geographic area of the boards to ask your question.
wendycook22 Posted August 16, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 16, 2018 The bars/venders on Maho Beach are back up and running. Tripadvisor shows many reviews of the beach and bar. I believe the beach is narrow, but many passengers have frequented there after last year's devastating hurricanes. Maho Beach reviews with images - https://www.tripadvisor.ca/Attraction_Review-g3160017-d539433-Reviews-Maho_Beach-Maho_Sint_Maarten_St_Martin_St_Maarten.html I agree with the above poster, you may want to do two individuals posts on the port boards for each destination. You may find more answers there :)
Shortycruiser Posted August 16, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted August 16, 2018 Punta Cana is in the Dominican Rep. What I'm hearing is that this is a new port for Celebrity.

wendychloecruiser Posted August 16, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 16, 2018 Any precautions you would normally heed for a stop in Jamaica will be very appropriate in Punta Cana.
oneputt18 Posted August 16, 2018 #7 Share Posted August 16, 2018 Punta Cana is a tender port. The ship anchors quite a way offshore and tendering was by lifeboats. We had to skip the port in April, seas were too rough. Maho Beach is up and running, Sunset Bar is better than ever.
