goose56 Posted August 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 18, 2018 I have a question about the Brazilian e visa. Has anyone used it and what were the results. I had an e visa to India and that worked just fine at the airport but we were put in the penalty box the whole time the cruise was in India and could only go on one tour at each port and had to go as a group. We had flown to Dehli, toured on the e visa and then flew to Abu Dhabi to pick up our ship only to find we were't allowed off the ship to see the things we were interested in. I don't want that to happen on the Amazon.
Tansy Mews Posted August 18, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 18, 2018 Evidently only citizens of four countries can get eVisas from Brazil - Americans, Canadians, Australians and Japanese. https://www.ivisa.com/brazil-blog/brazil-e-visa-for-canadians The US government's site for travelers mentions eVisas - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/International-Travel-Country-Information-Pages/Brazil.html However the Government of Canada site doesn't mention eVisas, just regular. See https://travel.gc.ca/destinations/brazil You might also want to ask on the Ports of Call area of this board - South America - https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=76 When we visited Brazil, we got a regular visa but it was about 6 years ago, before eVisas. It wasn't too hard to get, except they are a stickler about filling in the form exactly right!
Andee Posted August 18, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 18, 2018 We got the eVisa. Cost $44.24, only good for 2 years. Challenging to get the picture just right. Visa arrived in about 3 days. Oceania told our TA it's accepted. Sent from my SM-G930V using Forums mobile app
