mgmigs Posted September 5, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2018 Are you allowed to check out books from dr Seuss bookville and/or are there any other places to check out children's books? Was hoping to avoid packing books from home for my ds bedtime they can get heavy.
teknoge3k Posted September 5, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2018 I cannot answer your question but if you cannot, you can get the kindle edition for fairly cheap. That way you can load several or all of the books onto your device and have them all for a car ride, dinner, flight, wherever. Just a thought. beachbum6264 Posted September 5, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 5, 2018 Got a Kindle or a tablet (get the Kindle app)? Check books out from your local library and load up before you go. I can carry several hundred books in my purse that way!
lulu78 Posted September 5, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 5, 2018 The kindle idea is great, but most kids, especially little ones love to physically hold the book and touch it and point at pictures, etc., I know my 2 year old does, not sure how old the OP kids are. All I can suggest is asking the camp carnival staff (the library is basic in the camp carnival area), there's a good 10 copies of each book in there, plus games. I don't remember any kind of check out system, but I never asked so can't say with any certainty that there is not one. If not, I would have them pick out no more than 3 of their favorites and make that work for the week. :)
mgmigs Posted September 5, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted September 5, 2018 Yes, ds is 3, he likes to hold the book, turn the pages, the old fashioned way. Usually I pack quite a few to have variety during the week but they can be heavy. so hopefully we can borrow a few books to read at bedtime. Thinner and cheap.
