Food question on Viking

Have only been on ocean cruises (Princess, Royal Caribbean, Carnival) and sometimes order more than one entree or appetizer.

Is that acceptable on river cruises?

We were able to do that on Viking. However, the selection might not be as varied as you are used to on ocean cruises. Like ocean cruises they did always have steak, chicken, salmon.

My husband likes larger portions, and they were more than willing to "beef up" his entree with extras, like a second chicken breast or double sides.

Better to do double portions for those who ask than be clearing plate after plate of half eaten meals because the servings are too big for most appetites.
