framboesa Posted September 13, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2018 Hello! While cruising with a big group do all the same cabin passengers have to do the checkin at the same time? We will arrive at different times, so we dont know if we must wait for all the cabin passengers to be present at the check in process. Thank you. tenpin Posted September 14, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 14, 2018 Providing you all have copies of the cruise ticket, & you inform Costa personal at the terminal you should be able to board when your number is called. It is important though to let Costa know preferably before booking or before cruising, as they then can let you know if you can once cabins are ready. Booking times are different at all ports this will be printed on cruise ticket, sometimes as late as 2pm before anyone boards.

tenpin Posted September 18, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 18, 2018 In that case do make sure you both have a copy of the cruise ticket & you have informed Costa of your intentions. Personal at the terminal are usually very helpful they stand right in a straight line to the entrance pointing you either to desks or seat until your number comes up, ( Booking number, not the other one) Hope you all have a great cruise & enjoy Costa's hospitality. framboesa Posted September 19, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted September 19, 2018 Thank you!So we will have one embarkation number? Normally we drop the luggage and wait in queue...never had one number called before...Where can we find the number? Because we are a group we don't have access to "my costa", so we don't have much information until we receive the tickets and luggage tags. We will embark in Barcelona.Thank you! tenpin Posted September 19, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 19, 2018 Barcellona is a little chaotic you will drop your luggage off just outside of the terminal on the ground floor, then go through security to the upper floor. If you have a Costa transfer you will be given boarding number on the coach, if not as you enter the departure lounge. Numbers are then displayed on a monitor, beware though Italians do not like queuing and almost all numbers will be trying to get through boarding gates. Between 3 & 4 pm is the best time to arrive if you have a choice.

Our ship will depart at 2 p.m. and I need to board as soon as possible ;) I normally cruise out of the USA ports, but cruised 3 times from Barcelona and never had the "numbers" thing, we only had to queue and it was first came first serve :) Thank you for this helpful information :)
