qm2lover Posted September 17, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 17, 2018 It is really odd. I booked by phone. I live on the South coast. I didnt realise that the person I was speaking to on the phone was in a TUI shop in Glasgow! "Can you just pop in" - Well, actually no I can't! Scot born Posted September 17, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted September 17, 2018 It know I called to ask a question as I am going on the explorer soon and they could not answer as I booked though my TA. What is all that about.
Vitalsign Posted September 17, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 17, 2018 Probably because you pay a service charge of approx £25 if you book through TUI TA (not paid online) and therefore they provide you with the answers to any queries Or if you booked through another TA then they must provide the service to you. Before you could book on line you couldn't speak to the holiday operator and your TA would sort you out

qm2lover Posted September 18, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 18, 2018 Yes, I should have done something like that. But I am used to dealing with the cruise specialist type travel agents over the phone. When I phoned the TUI number that is what I was expecting. Didnt realise that phone calls can be re routed to the next available place, in my case a TUI shop Glasgow! They also knew very little about cruises, telling me that I would not need my passport. However, cannot fault their enthusiasm as to answer my questions they had to phone some of their customers to find out!! I know now and understand their system somewhat! nancyneptune Posted September 19, 2018 #8 Share Posted September 19, 2018 Sad to say Tui customer services are the worst ever.
WeeCountyMan Posted September 25, 2018 #9 Share Posted September 25, 2018 They also knew very little about cruises, telling me that I would not need my passport Over many years experience I had come to the conclusion that nothing could surprise me about Thomsons/TUI's ineptitude...........but that has revised my thinking.
