Leaving luggage at BCN

I was thinking of flying in to Barcelona before our cruise out of Rome. We'd be there about 26 hours (short I know, but I missed seeing the La Familia Sagrada last time, and I WILL see it!!).

 

I was thinking of leaving our bigger bags in the airport, and just take a backpack or two for the 1 day. Has anyone done this? Any issues with theft there?

thanks! No issue with theft? I'm cautious with the pickpocketing being so rampant in Barcelona. Not sure what the security looks like around these lockers
