Internet Package pre-cruise vs on-board

I'll be sailing Meraviglia again in October on a 7-night Med cruise, however I'll be joining for 5 nights. Pre-boarding MSC offers the Premium Internet package (4GB) for $86.50.

I definitely will be purchasing Internet and have a few questions:

 

1) Will MSC pro-rate the $86.50 to my time onboard, the 5 nights?

2) If I purchase on-board for daily service, how much will daily be?

It is my understanding that what you are actually purchasing is the "chunk" of bandwidth. Therefore, you pay the same price for the same amount of data- whether you are on board 5 days or 10 days.

That is correct. The internet packages are priced for number of devices and GB of data.

Remember that you are only paying for internet onboard and when you are on the ship in port. We thought that was very expensive and opted to buy sim cards in Europe to 'Euro roam' instead. However we are from New Zealand and were cruising for 23 days.

The only time we did not have data was at sea and in Russia

Remember that you are only paying for internet onboard and when you are on the ship in port.

With the internet packages I have access to the internet from the time of activation after embarking until disembarking. In ports and while on sea. My cellphone is in “airplane mode”, no roaming and/or international charges. Back on land I have my international calling plan from my US cellphone provider.
