What time do shops close?

Our ship is in Aruba from 8 AM to 12 midnight. I want to do bracelet shopping there, however, would like to spend as much time on the beach as possible. it seems one time we were there until 8 PM, however, some of the stores seemed to close. Is there an expert out there on Aruba that may know?

The shops near the cruise port close at 6:00. The stores in Palm Beach are open until at least 9:00. A lot of the jewelry stores are located in both areas. They close up the downtown stores and head to the Palm Beach stores in the evenings. Just take the bus or taxi to Palm Beach, grab a bite to eat and enjoy the shopping. There's lots to see and do.

We are in Aruba from 1-11, we want to go to Eagle beach for as long as we can. Is it close to there to go on to Palm beach to eat and shop?

Sure. You can go back to the ship and change, then grab a taxi or the bus to Palm, or you can go straight to Palm Beach from Eagle Beach. Make sure that your clothes are dry because taxis won't take you if you're wet. It's about 15 minutes by taxi, but longer on the bus, due to stops from downtown. Eagle is about 10 minutes. It is well worth it. When you are ready to go back to the ship, walk over to one of the hotels. Taxis wait at the hotels for rides. Don't wait for the bus. They run less frequently at night.

Wondering if you're familiar with the area near the Barcelo on Palm Beach? The hubby and I aren't big dollar shoppers, but do like to look around. Designer goods and jewelry aren't our thing, but we do like to take home mementos. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There is tons of shopping around Barcelo,  but a lot of them don't open until dinner time.

Thank you! We have the afternoon pass there, from 1-9. Am sure we will be ready to head out about the time the shops are opening.
