Pattywac Posted October 4, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 4, 2018 help please! We usually take beach vacays, last year we took our grandson to Disney World, so the cruise experience is new to us. There will be 4 of us (myself, husband, our adult daughter and 4 yr old grandson) on the trip. I’ve narrowed it down to the Carnival Dream (New Orleans) and Royal Caribbean’s Enchantment of the Seas (Galveston); both are 7 days, both are western Caribbean destinations and the price is around the same on both. How has your experience been on either of these lines? The cabins suggested (both junior suites) are deck 7172 ( 7th aft deck) Enchantment and 7272 (deck 7 portside) on the Dream. Also I can’t seem to get a solid answer from either regarding smoking locations on the ships (the distance from the cabin). One suggested the casino and bar, but I don’t gamble or drink, so not sure if that’s a doable option. The upper deck was also mentioned but again have no idea on how far or long to get there from our cabin. Lastly does either have more activities for a 4 year old than the other? We’ve had a stressful year and in desperate need of a vacation to chill and have fun. Thanks bunches ❤️
Rare mom says Posted October 4, 2018 #2 Share Posted October 4, 2018 You can ask on the Carnival or RCCL forums about the designated smoking areas. Depending on how close you are to an elevator, it doesnt take long to reach a DSA. There is also a family cruising forum where you might get answers about the kids programs and facilities on each of those ships.
