deedaydreamer Posted October 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2018 Sad but true.. booked our cruise with my best friend/now business partner two years ago and ended up starting a new business this summer and now wondering how in the world we are going to keep the business running smoothly while away. We have employed some temporary help but obviously we know our accounts better and are just a little nervous to leave it "unattended" We do have a Verizon jet pack but wondered on what ports we could use this if we had to with our travelpass. We are traveling to Aruba, Curacao, Grand Turk and Princess Cays. Has anyone used a Jet Pack in these locations with success and does the Verizon Travel Pass cover it at those destinations? Thanks for any and all suggestions and help.

bobsfamily Posted October 18, 2018 #6 Share Posted October 18, 2018 Jetpacks (Verizon?) will work if there is a cell tower to connect to, not sure what your rate for MB/GB's would be in another country, some do actually charge by the MB of data... could be costly! Good luck, every time I go cruising I have to let my clients I am gone as I am it... I fix homeowners computers/networks/etc.
deedaydreamer Posted October 18, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted October 18, 2018 Yes, that's what I am curious about.. if any of my ports have accessibility and if anyone has successfully tried it. I already know the ship's internet is the worst ever. Last time we went, we were in the middle of securing a mortgage and they wanted us to sign off of these docs and it would take an hour to connect and would disconnect during the transaction so using the ship's wifi is not an option

Years ago I had client that was in Canada right over the border and used a hotspot on their phone to use their laptop. Let's just say they turned off all roaming and hotspot the next time in Canada...
coevan Posted October 18, 2018 #9 Share Posted October 18, 2018 Thanks Greg, exactly, seems more fun than Verizon. I tried it in St.Thomas and face planted for 15 minutes, much harder than it looks
BigCruze Posted October 19, 2018 #10 Share Posted October 19, 2018 If you have Hilton Honors you maybe able to jump on their wifi. Which is very fast when we were at the Bahamas. They may let you login. Go to the concierge desk.
