Transport from Orlando to Tampa

We are cruising from Tampa but visiting Orlando before and after our cruise. What transport options are available? We do not want to hire a car as we are Australian and not confident to drive a car on the other side of the road.

Greyhound and maybe MegaBus run between Orlando and Tampa.  Neither leaves from the airport or port, so you'll need to use a taxi or Uber to connect to the bus. 

 

I'd take another look at one way car rentals - it is an easy 75-90 minute drive on highways from Orlando to Tampa.

I guess Uber. We live in Lakeland which is about half way between Orlando and Tampa, maybe a bit closer to Tampa. My niece recently did Uber from the Tampa Airport to our house and it cost $56, so I suspect from Orlando to Tampa would be a bit more than twice that.

Pretty close - the estimated fare from WDW to the port of Tampa is about $95 for UberX (good for 2-3 passengers plus normal bags).  OP is from Australia, so a phone with US data may be an issue/extra expense.

I am still concerned re hiring a car. I am travelling with my 2 adult daughters. None of us are confident to tackle driving an unknown car on, to us, the wrong side of the road. Our travel agent talked about town cars. Are they like Uber? We will need to be picked from a hotel near Universal Studios.

Town Cars are more like a limousine and (usually) a bit more upscale than an Uber/cab.
