tokidoki Posted November 5, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 5, 2018 HI everyone, am looking at a short 5 day trip this winter, and since I booked thru CAS for a 7 day and got the platinum TR card discount, would love to continue to book this way. Has anyone been able to do so, thx😊
Rare BirdTravels Posted November 5, 2018 #2 Share Posted November 5, 2018 Once you become a rated player with CAS, you can call them directly for all future cruises. Base on your play, you will either get a discounted room directly from CAS, or a comped room (sail for free on every cruise). Similar to TR, CAS has a players program where there are equivalent tiers for onboard benefits.
tokidoki Posted November 5, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted November 5, 2018 thx, Bird Travels, but I thought since I have the Total Rewards card, that I could still at least get the 10%?

You can. If you have a Total Rewards level that gives you a NCL discount, then you call and book through CAS in order to get the discount applied correctly. This also grants you the casino drink card to be placed in your room upon embarkation as well. Our last 4 cruises has been booked as a TR Diamond (20%) off CAS. Two cruises booked next year and between the two, saved almost $1000 on cruise fare through the Total Rewards relationship.
tokidoki Posted November 5, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted November 5, 2018 great! we r platinum, but the 10% and drink card helped! Also wondered if platinum status with NCL gives us any benefits on a 5 day trip?

In fat the discounts through CAS are at the very least equal to what TR will get you. Usually much better. Unless you have your TR status by other means besides gambling and CAS means nothing because you aren't gambling to begin with... You have to gamble to get status and perks with CAS whereas I'm getting 20% off and the drink card without gambling a dollar. 😉
ellell Posted November 6, 2018 #7 Share Posted November 6, 2018 Platinum no longer gives you the drink card, just the 10% discount. Confimed by CAS last week. I would call CAS to transfer the booking and they might be able to give you something based on your land or cruise play.

Also wondered if platinum status with NCL gives us any benefits on a 5 day trip? Your TR status does not get you anything onboard. It helps you book the room. It gets you a drink card that can be used at the casino bar when the casino is open. You have to get to an equivalent status on NCL (i.e., gambling on the ship) to get perks onboard. https://www.ncl.com/why-cruise-norwegian/casino-cruise/players-club If you have no history with NCL, you will have Jade status on link above. You have to be CAS rated to get CAS perks. (Does not matter how long the cruise is). Edited November 6, 2018 by BirdTravels
