Luggage Labels?

Recommended Posts

No When you get to the airport you will be seen in the checkin queue by a TUI rep who will give you cabin number labels to attach to your luggage that is all you need Check in staff will put flight labels on

if you are going to the Caribbean you won't see your luggage again until it is placed outside your cabin door approx 2 hrs after embarking

have a great cruise

Does this also apply to cruises in Europe, we are just about to book a complete package with flight from Manchester to Tenerife in January?

I see no reason why it would be any different. Just back last Wednesday from Montego Bay and our outbound was as posted before.

On your return you will get an envelop with your labels to attach to your luggage the day before your return.

Yes, this applies to cruises in Europe but the luggage is not bonded so you will have to collect it at the carousel as usual and take it to the coach. (It is only bonded for Dubrovnik in Europe.)

How does this work if flying on a non TUI flight?

We opted for a Thomas Cook flight for the better flight time so wondering how we get our luggage labels, as we have also not been allocated a cabin number yet i am presuming it might as we embark?

Pretty much correct ,you will get them as you enter the cruise terminal for check in.

I hope you're not going Thomas Cook to the Caribbean and foregoing a Dreamliner can't think of anything worse Also if you're not flying TUI the ship won't wait if you're delayed and how much will it cost to get you from the airport to the cruise terminal?

the beauty of Marella cruises is it's a total package and even to Europe TUI flight seats are bigger than Thomas Cooks

Only to Tenerife and the Thomas Cook flight with allocated extra leg room seats was cheaper than the TUI flight so went for that.

Not correct what you say about the ship not waiting though if flight is delayed, the full package including flight is still all booked via TUI so they know which passengers are on which flights and would react accordingly if ANY flights are delayed.

Very different if you book as "cruise only" and make your own travel arrangements of course.

Presumed you were going independant ,so if its a TUI/t cook flight you might possibly still get your labels at your departure airport when you go to check in

No, still done as the full package with TUI.

Will see about the labels on the day but no real problem if we have to wait until we get to the port to get them, suppose other option is on the coach from airport to port

Right attitude to take , amazing how some people worry about trivial things like this.

Still have a feeling you will get them at departure airport , can't see the reps at tenerife airport who guide you to the buses having them ,then at the port it depends which terminal you are at as to whether its practical to give them at check in ,at the old terminal yes the bus drops the cases down at the ship where you get on ,if its the new terminal you get dropped at the terminal door and embark the ship via the arial walkways ,your bags go on the bus round the other side so you have no access to them to label them. Couple of weeks ago we embarked at the new terminal and disembarked at the old one.

We are flying Thomson airways ( Dreamliner) from Birmingham to Langkawi in January to cruise on Discovery1.

Being a bonded flight ( only put on for the cruise passengers) will our luggage go straight to the ship or will we need to collect it from the airport in Langkawi

Thanks

Am I correct in assuming that we will have to collect our luggage from the carousel in Palma, Majorca and then look for a coach transfer to the ship?

yes collect your luggage and then look (easy to spot) for the TUI reps as you exit arrivals ,they will direct you to the coaches
