Crazy4Camping Posted November 25, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 25, 2018 We already have purchased transfers because we were told no Uber in San Juan and taxis are expensive. Now that I have been following these forums I see that some folks have used ride-sharing, taxis, etc. without any issues and much cheaper than transfers. Someone also said I can get a refund for the transfers and cancel them. Can anyone tell me FOR SURE that they have used Uber or taxi or whatever in San Juan and also has anyone cancelled transfers and received refunds without a problem?? In your research about how much was a taxi? I thought I read they were fixed rates and resonably priced. We will be there in a few weeks and would like to confirm the taxi info Bill
Micahs Grandad Posted November 25, 2018 #3 Share Posted November 25, 2018 I would look at port of call pages and see what people have posted and if nothing than post there
klfrodo Posted November 25, 2018 #4 Share Posted November 25, 2018 I've used taxi, albeit 4 or 5 years ago. They are regulated. You step outside of baggage claim, there is a taxi stand, the person manning the stand asks where you want to go, gives you the fixed price, hails the proper cab for your party, tells the driver where you're going and confirms the agreed upon price. crazycatlady82 Posted November 26, 2018 #5 Share Posted November 26, 2018 I don’t know about canceling but I can guarantee there is Uber in San Juan. I took Uber in May 2018 in San Juan, and had a normal, good experience.

Doggielover68 Posted November 26, 2018 #7 Share Posted November 26, 2018 We took a taxi to and from San Juan airport a few years ago. Very easy. It was around $25 each way. There were taxis lined up both at the airport and near the ship.
bakersdozen12 Posted November 26, 2018 #8 Share Posted November 26, 2018 You can cancel prepurchased transfers without any problems, right online. Money paid will go back to the card you used to make the purchase.

I've never needed a refund for a gift card purchase, but I believe they mail you a new gift card.

coldinerie Posted November 27, 2018 #14 Share Posted November 27, 2018 We used UBER 1 week ago. Same as the mainland. Simple and inexpensive.

If you are like me, you used dozens over a period of time so luckily the very nice rep was able to look up the number so I would know which one got credited. Glad I kept all the gift cards I used!! PhoenixCruiser Posted November 28, 2018 #16 Share Posted November 28, 2018 We used taxis in August airport to hotel - hotel to pier - pier to airport without issue. Back then Uber was still iffy so we didn't want to waste our time or not be picked up - dropped off door to door.
