ladybub101 Posted December 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 11, 2018 We just sailed on the Sunshine and although the waterslides were a blast, they were pretty painful on the back and elbows. Even the kids got a lot of bruises from them. Are there tips on how to make the ride down more pleasant?? We were following instructions. Are all Carnival ships' waterslides like this? camijo Posted December 12, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 12, 2018 I haven't been on the slides but my kids do complain that it is rough.
PhillyFan33579 Posted December 12, 2018 #3 Share Posted December 12, 2018 I think the slides on Sunshine are the fastest slides on Carnival. From my experience riding lots of water slides, the faster the slide, the rougher it is on the body. The only exception to this is slides that have a straight drop with no curves in them. Keep in mind I don’t ride slides nearly as much as I did when I was younger, so my experiences might be dated. The last slides I rode were on Magic several months ago. Both of their slides are on the mild side and easy on the body.
CorgiCruiser123 Posted December 12, 2018 #4 Share Posted December 12, 2018 Went on the slide on the carnival elation - seemed fine to me!
Rare dctravel Posted December 12, 2018 #5 Share Posted December 12, 2018 Wear a swim shirt. That really helps with the seams on the slide, plus it can help cut down the areas in which you need to put in sunscreen.

The drainpipe in the Magic (and slides at Volcano Bay at Universal Orlando) seemed fast to me!
