My husband and I will be doing a 14 day Panama cruise on the Star February 1st. We both cruise a lot but have only been on one other NCL cruise (Sky to Cuba). I know the Star just got refurbished. Can anyone give me any info. On what she is like now. What is new on her? We're cabins redone? How is the Star overall? We like the smaller ships so looking forward to our cruise.

Any info. From cruisers that have been on her recently would be greatly appreciated.

Took an 11 day southern Carribean on star in November. My thoughts:  Pool is smallish, with 4 hot tubs in the area. Lots of lounge chairs in sun and a few in shaded areas.  A large hot tub up front deck 13 or 14ish, Also 2 hot tubs on back in the adult area, forget the name of that area 😬  There was seating - high top bar tables, oversize chairs and couches with cushions, lots of tvs that usually had a sporting event on.  (In the adults-only area) People camped out in this area napping and reading in the afternoons.  Evening Entertainment was really good, gym was adequate, didn't use the spa, we don't drink, but bar service appeared plentiful in public areas.   We enjoyed the ship. it was easy to find your way around.

Just did the 14 day Panama cruise 11/30 - 12/14. Pool is smallish but adequate. Hardly any kids will be on your cruise - unless it is during a break. The longer the cruise the older the people. Plenty of hot tubs - Once you get south it will be too hot to be in them! Our temps were in the 80's and 90's with high humidity.  If you are lucky the service will have improved by February. The ship overall was nice. Not many activities. I think they were short staffed in the activity department.  7:30 shows filled up fast. Lots of room at the 9:30 shows.

I am booked for 2/15 Panama Canal cruise.

When it is 2 weeks, are there 2 glow parties?

4 NCL Nights Out?

I am hoping to pack accordingly for the trip . . .

I'm on the 2/15 as well... following!

Also, there's a pretty active roll call, come say hi.

We just did the 14 days LA to Miami on 1/04; first time on NCL and on Star. We enjoyed the ship and the service level. We usually travel in Carnival. Everything looked fresh and new, including the cabins. We were in the cabins near the casino which were convenient for theater and casino access. Restaurants were nice, best was Cagneys.

Theater shows were good on some, others not so great. Pool area was always busy, but a bit stiflingly warm at times as the windows are mostly sealed on that deck/area. Overall I would recommend the ship/cruise.

We are too.  First time with NCL but looking forward to it. Anyone else on here from the UK?
