Minimum amount to gamble to get casino rate offer?

We did our first Princess cruise in April 2018 - 28 day roundtrip out of LA.  Hubby spent a lot of time in casino and we got offers for casino rate when we returned home.  I booked a 7 day cruise (out of LA up to SF).  Took the interior at 35% off.  Then we went to our favorite casino in southern Calif and received a certificate for a "free cruise" on Princess.  Both my hubby and I got a certificate - so we booked two rooms - one interior for us and one balcony for son/wife/2 grandkids -   total of 6 people

The cost of the 35% off casino rate for two people interior was going to cost $1200+

cost of six people, two rooms with "free room" - $2000 total - that includes protection insurance - take that out and cost was around $1750.  -  We cancelled the casino rate cruise and are going on the family cruise.

The free room offered by the other casino is a free interior - you pay the port taxes and fees.  If you upgrade to a better room then you pay a cost difference.  (interior cabin is $300 and balcony is $1600+)

We leave in 3 weeks for our "free cruise" - today I got an email offer to go to Las Vegas and get a free cruise with a different cruise line, but we are going back to our favorite in two weeks to get another free cruise offer for Princess.

I can’t image one just needs to ask if they can get the casino rate?  You have to qualify for these rates some how?

You do have to qualify, but they don't email all of the rates that you qualify for. If you've played in their casino and are planning a cruise, call and ask if you qualify for the casino rate (and if there are any still available for your cruise). We saved $800 on the Enchanted TA just by asking.

My wife and I play Black Jack every night on our cruises.  We have won some and lost some, but always start with a $100 buy in each every time we play and check in with our cruise card.  We have NEVER received any casino offers.  I requested my "play" history from the casino operators web site.  When I received it, it did not show half of the amount of $ or occasions of play.
