fsuhockette Posted December 29, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 29, 2018 We wanted to do go to El Yunque and booked a trip thru the cruise ship - the El Yunque Drive (hike isn't available). However, I'm not sure its going to be our cup of tea. There's 5 of us - 2 adults, 3 kids (11, 10, 5). We'd love to have time to wander around a bit and explore the rainforest without being drive about. Anyone know of any other options? Port time is 7a-2p. pdc2013 Posted December 29, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 29, 2018 Rent a car and drive there, this way you can take all the time you want.

How far away form Port is the rain forest? It's at least 40 minutes. A taxi would be prohibitive.
LetsHaveFunInTheSun Posted April 24, 2019 #6 Share Posted April 24, 2019 My wife and I just spend some time in San Juan a month ago and got to know a great couple that owns their own tour company. It is called "Seeing Puerto Rico" and their names are Narayan and Lismar. They made us feel like family the minute that they picked us up. They showed us many things about the island as well as their culture. They spoke very good English and even interpreted for us in a few cases where we didn't understand the Spanish speaking vendors. Narayan and Lismar know every part of the island and can tailor your tour to see whatever you want. They can do simple walking tours with you in San Juan to more elaborate tours to see the island, making sure you have a good time and get back to catch your boat on time. You can reach them at 787-628-7558 or check out their facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pg/SeeingPuertoRico/
