Savage2017 Posted December 30, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2018 Hi Gals and Guys We stayed in The Confidante in the past and did enjoy it but felt it was too far away from South Beach. We are looking at going back to Miami and are looking for a hotel recommendation for 3/4 nights located on Collins Avenue but close to South Beach. I have ave read some reviews on hotels located on South Beach and noise levels seems to be a common problem hence looking for recommendation on Collins Ave on the Miami Beach side pease. Your help is is greatly appreciated 😊
fishywood Posted December 30, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 30, 2018 Hate to repeat the standard stock answer from this board, but without knowing what time of year and what your budget is it is hard to offer any specific recommendation. Though helpful to know that you wish to avoid the noise of Ocean Drive. I would suggest looking for a property on Collins Ave between the 1600-2100 blocks. Still on the ocean, walking distance to Lincoln Road. If the Loews is in your budget (eg for January it runs about $50-ish/night more than the Confidante) that is a fine place to start. Or if you want an older property (and its corresponding rates for its smaller rooms and baths) such as found in the mid-Beach neighborhood of the Confidante but much better located there is The Shelborne or The National, though both do run slightly higher than the Confidante as well due to their better location. Savage2017 Posted December 30, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted December 30, 2018 Opps never mentioned time of year 😳 looking at November 2019 and probably same star rating as the confidante 4 star unless there’s a fab 3 star I would consider.
capriccio Posted December 31, 2018 #4 Share Posted December 31, 2018 Our son and daughter-in-law's wedding was held at the National in mid-November 2016 and everyone is still talking about it. The hotel is a lovely, renovated Art Deco hotel with a spectacular pool area and in a great location on Collins (#1677) and the beach. Just beware that it was built in 1939 and the rooms in the main building are small. Those in the more recently built cabana building are much larger. FPJC03 Posted December 31, 2018 #5 Share Posted December 31, 2018 Will second staying at the NATIONAL on Collins and 17 St. It is far enough away from the Spring Break crowd but just a block from the Lincoln Road shopping and restaurant district. Amazing long pool and right on the beach. We are staying in a Cabana room, which overlook that spectacular pool.
Savage2017 Posted January 1, 2019 Author #6 Share Posted January 1, 2019 (edited) National looks amazing, rang our TA and unfortunately they don’t have the hotel on their books. They have suggested The Redbury it’s coming up good reviews on TripAdvisor. Edited January 1, 2019 by Savage2017
FPJC03 Posted January 1, 2019 #7 Share Posted January 1, 2019 You should compare their rates that you would pay VS doing hotel booking on your own. Trip from MIA to Miami Beach is only about $20 via Uber or Lyft. And then another $10 to Port.
