West End, Any beaches right here?

We will take a minibus from Coxen Hole to West End.   Looking at Google earth, there seems to be some beaches in the immediate area.  Are these public or private?

Free or not?  Any good?  We would only be interested in a 1-2hr  stay, and GREAT is not required.  Just want some nice water, chairs, shade.  Maybe a nearby bar.

Otherwise, we will take the water ferry to West Bay.

Half Moon Bay beach is right in the Village of West End.  The beach is public, the sand and water are free. Loungers, beverages and food are payable.

Sundowner's is an almost famous bar right on the beach and Ginger's has very good food just off to the left side of the bay when looking at the water.

There are heaps of other options for food and beverage in West End.

Depending on what time you’re arriving, you might consider going to West Bay early, then taking the ferry over to West End Village about lunchtime.  There are lots of good places to eat in West End and by about 11am West Bay starts to get very crowded since there are lots of condos there.  If snorkeling is on your list, Half Moon Bay is pretty good as well.
