cdawg582 Posted January 6, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2019 Our flight gets in at 5am to Papeete and we are now stressing over the fact that we didn't book a pre-cruise room. The IC is booked up, along with the Fare-Suisse. It seems as if many places don't offer Day rooms. Can anyone shed any light on what they did to kill the 10 hours between plane touchdown and embarkation?
Wendy The Wanderer Posted January 8, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 8, 2019 At the worst, you could check your luggage at the airport and spend the day in town, or even rent a car and drive around. Have you checked other hotels, some of which may be farther away but still an easy taxi ride? Le Meridien, Manava, Pearl, or the other downtown hotels like Tahiti Nui? Or even the Tahiti Airport Motel, if you'd be content with just a place to lay your head.
cdawg582 Posted January 11, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted January 11, 2019 Manava ended up being the ticket! more than half the price of the cruise sponsored day room and the resort looks nice. we will see!

Oh good, glad it worked out. I'm sure it'll be fine for a day room, but it will be interesting to hear about your experience.
justmeindustland Posted January 17, 2019 #5 Share Posted January 17, 2019 We always use Manava. The bar food is good but if you out and turn right a little ways down is this unique chicken place. It is roasted chickens and sides. You get a whole chicken that you walk away with. No plates or utensils. Just a very good chicken. They close when they run out which is normally around 12:30.
