Suggestion - OP lock/close thread

Please can the original poster have the option to lock a thread once answered?

 

Time and again a post is resolved but a stream of people keep posting the same only reply (probably because they only read the opening post and not whole thread), this keeps bumping an answered thread to the top hiding newer unanswered posts.

 

If the OP could just click a button "answered" that would lock the post from further answers it would be great.

 

This would stop really old posts from years ago getting bumped up as well. Perhaps also auto lock threads with no replies in over 6 months old like some other sites do.

An OP is free to stop following a thread once satisfied. I see no reason to allow them to cut off discussion between other users.
