Costa cancellation penalty

If U book a Costa cruise with a 10% deposit 18 months in advance & then email the authorized agent to cancel it 91 days prior to sailing; but due to some miscommunication, the agent cancels it much later when the penalties exceed the deposit, what will happen?

Firstly it is important that you always get a conformation email reply from Costa whenever you cancel a cruise, if fact for any notification you have with them regarding money.

 

This is simply because of the number of Counties & language's they deal with on a daily basis. That is why an reply to any cancelation if confirmed.

 

Looking at one of my bookings  (In UK)  cancelation before 45 days before sailing it is £50 each person this goes up the closer you get.

But the loss to the customer is limited to 100% of the deposit already paid, right?

Or will Costa try to extract more money over and above the deposit already forfeited for a cancellation?

              As I read it & as we cancelled one last September within 45 days of sailing, & before final payment due date regardless of what deposit you paid it is only £50pp we had to pay 25% deposit we for the cruise (£705.00) we got back £605.00.

 

Now you have to be careful to read all your Countries T&C's regarding cancelations, as Costa terms are often different for different Countries, and also these long term future cruise bookings.

They normally notify us of any new changes in terms but not always.

Although there is a lot of pages to get through it is very important that you are familiar with the T&C's as you can be stopped boarding for many reasons & note you cannot complain if the ship does not get into a port you are sick (ill or even near pregnancy)  & disability not declared, terms of cancelation are clearly set out it is good idea to copy them so that you know which terms are currently in force.
