Formal wear on Princess - kilts acceptable?

One one of the more recent posts on this board, someone posted a picture of himself and his wife on formal night - he wearing kilts. I think he looked great and am sure you will too. You should wear them!

A kilt is indeed considered proper attire on formal evenings. We were talking with friends the other day and all agree we like the look of a man in a kilt and all the finery. DH said if he were Scottish he would certainly wear a kilt on formal nights. Unfortunately, he's a mad Russian, and no, the big furry hat won't be making it's way onboard!!!:D

trashieeuro: grow up.

Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)

A kilt is certainly formal wear. :)

Of course, as I am sure you know, strictly speaking an evening wear sporran and a Prince Charlie jacket and vest should be worn but not everyone sticks rigidly to the rules. A black Argylle jacket can also look very smart and I cheated at the second formal night and only wore a "jacobite shirt":

John - is that really your family plaid? It is lovely. My only recent experience with a kilt was shoppong at a grocery in Memphis, in warm weather, and in walks a very tall, robust guy with very long hair, a scowl, a tool belt and a kilt...shopping for dinner...I wondered if he was a roofer:o

memphismimi,

My maternal grandmother was a Ferguson.

This tartan is an "Ancient Ferguson" rather than the more common "Modern Ferguson". I got this new kilt to go on Liberty's inaugural cruise last year and liked the more muted colours of the ancient.

Thanks for your compliments.

John
