Dolebludger Posted January 20, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted January 20, 2019 Thanks for the reply. Where does this ship sail now? I remember it as the worst ship I ever cruised. Before I was on her in 1999, NCL had literally cut the ship in two and added an extended mid section which contained only more cabins. This made the public areas very crowded, and resulted in a deck plan that passengers could never figure out.
CruiserEK Posted January 21, 2019 #4 Share Posted January 21, 2019 The ship now sails out of Phuket, Thailand and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I sailed on it's sister ship the Norewgian Wind about 15 years ago. Yeah some of the places on that ship were cramped and overcrowded. Especially the back sport's bar that had doubled as the buffet restaurant.

We got noro on this ship, so we call it the NCL Nightmare 😉

She was an overcrowded maze - the added hull section was poorly planned - we had to go through the MDR to get from our cabin to anywhere else. The itinerary: 7days Boston to St. George, Bermuda was ideal. Ships now are too big to fit in, and now most go to that dismal tourist trap at the old RN Dockyard. Cruising is a strong example of bigger certainly not being better.
