What is a really unique Mendenhall Glacier excursion?

So I really wanted to do a Glacier Rafting tour but I’ll be in Juneau 5/15, and the tour season doesn’t begin until 5/16 😞

I don’t want an excursion that does whale watching, flight seeing, or dogsledding, as I will have done that in Skagway. Has anyone booked a tour that would be centered around Mendenhall that’s more than just a drive by on a shuttle?

Although the rafting season might not have started, it looks like you can do the canoe and glacier trek:

Alternatively, we very much enjoyed this tour, if you prefer something a bit more energetic:

We highly recommend this tour company for Mendenhall Glacier tours.

How was the glacier trek? Did it really wear you out? I think it looks awesome, but my mom thinks it will be very challenging.

I also thought about kayaking as well.

Yes!  It really wore me out.  However, my 16 and 12 year olds, who were also with us, could have done it again on the same day!  Actually, I really enjoyed getting worn out like that, but I don't recommend it to your mom unless she actually wants to get worn out.
