katmash Posted April 7, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2004 I'm new to the Carnival board but not new to cruising. I'd love some help with cabin selection. My sister and 2 of her friends want to escape kids and family for a week and sail on the Conquest. Her only request was that they have a balcony. I looked at the cabins at VirtualTour.com. It seemed the only difference in a 9A and 11 was the sofa and wrap-around balcony. Somewhere else I looked, the sq. footage was the same in those 2 categories. Would a category 8 be too small for them? Researching for sister was more than I could stand, so now my cruise addicted husband and I must go along and I'm trying to decide between 9A and 11 for the 2 of us. Thanks in advance for advice from Conquest cruisers in the know.
Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted April 7, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2004 Go for the 9A wrap-around... we just had #6483 on the Glory (same deck plans as Conquest) - the deck was over 30 feet long.. with 2 lounge chairs, 2 chairs, and a table.... not much in the way of "hall noise" since in the back corner... and deck 6 - in my opinion - is the way to go! Firefighter's wife Posted April 8, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 8, 2004 Is it just you & your sister sharing the cabin? We had a 9A Cabin on the Conquest last Sept. There is no sofa in the 9a cabin. The Balcony was big,but if size matter's go for it. If not save your money & get a regular balcony cabin. katmash Posted April 8, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted April 8, 2004 Sister will be in one cabin with 2 of her girlfriends. Hubby and I will be in another. The wrap-around balcony sure looks nice. I'm afraid if I tell my hubby about the big deck, uh I mean balcony, he'll have to have it. Thanks for the responses and I appreciate any others. Catrin Posted April 8, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 8, 2004 Unfortunatly, they won't book a 9A wrap around for 3 people. We just tried it on the Triumph. I would book a Cat 8 - unless you have your heart set on a suite. Cathy Ecstacy October 1992 Destiny October 1999 TRIUMPH May2003 TRIUMPH AGAIN! powriel Posted April 8, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 8, 2004 We had a 8A on the Conquest with myself, husband and two teenage children. We had ample amount of room - balcony was great, like an extension of the cabin. 8/25 Carnival Spirit Conquest 2/03 Glory 2/
