Early Saver Rate / Price match Rates?

Hi guys,

I'm booked on to vista in April and have noticed that I can now book a pack and go rate for around $50 less than what I paid for early saver rate. So far I have spoken to two different people (as I wasn't sure I believed the first person) and they have both said that I cannot price match my Early saver rate against a pack and go rate. So is this 100% true or have I just been unlucky with carnival employees who I have spoken to?

Pack and Go is generally for a guarantee cabin, rather than for a specific classification such as 4J, 8A, etc.  Thus you are not actually price matching since guarantees are for general categories such as insides, balconies, etc.

I have read posts saying they were allowed to switch, one time only, but had to give up their chosen cabin and accept the cabin they are assigned by Carnival.

I hope folks will jump right in to correct me if I am misinforming you.
