Restaurants Close To Port?

Hi! This is probably our 4th or 5th time to Nassau, and in the past we’ve usually done our own thing, which included lunch in the Fish Fry area. This time we’re taking a shore excursion about two hours after docking that picks up at the pier. So, we’d like to grab a good lunch nearby, then just hang out till our excursion time. Any recommendations for restaurants close to port? We prefer local as opposed to chains like Senior Frog. Thanks!!

Treat yourself to Luciano’s Italian restaurant.

Great food and atmosphere, and not a tourist trap like nearly all the restaurants right near the pier.

Note: Saturdays is dinner only.

Bahamian Cookin' is wonderful, and very close to the port.  It's a "locals" place with fabulous food, including the conch fritters.

Also excellent and nearby, if you'd like to try Jamaican food, is the Pepper Pot Grill.

I was really surprised with Sharkeez. It looks like a tourist trap but their cracked conch was amazing

Senor Frogs surprised me like that one time. They had a gentleman in there cracking conch fresh from the shell and preparing it in a ceviche that was served immediately. I was pleasantly surprised and it still ranks as one of the best ceviche's I've ever eaten. Wasn't expecting that at all.
