We stayed at the Riverside on Las Olas for a few nights a couple weeks back and the location was amazing! Some areas a little dated but overall very nice.  Pool area was nice as well.  Shops and restaurants everywhere in the area.  Great little bakery across the street too.  Everywhere we ate around there was very good.  Easy (and cheap) to get the shuttle down to the beach as well.  We took it one way and walked back.

Another vote for this hotel.  Excellent location with many, many restaurants within walking distance.  Also has the water taxi stop right there.   Pool is across the street which has a restaurant attached so you can order food right from your pool chair!

We have stayed in the newer and older part.  Nice, helpful staff too.  We also had breakfast at hotel sitting outside people watching.
