ATM euros

To be honest we looked at taking Euros as well and its frankly not worth the hassle if you are from the US. All currencies being exchanged to CUC pay a 3% fee. US dollars pay an additional 10% tax but depending on the commission the bank is charging you for the conversion Euros this can be a wash (its a moving target obviously because of currency exchange rates). When we were last there I would have saved about $4 US on a $100 conversion by bringing the equivalent Euros BUT I would have lost money converting the unused Euros back to USD after the trip.

You have an advantage being on a cruise ship that a lot of us who go there from the US and stay in hotels don't-- you don't have to bring all the cash that you could possibly need because most ships have a USD ATM onboard or you could get it through the casino.
