Reina del Mar Posted February 27, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2019 Just for information Went into travel agent yesterday, in the hope of amending our 2020 Princess cruise booking, with some fear and trepidation! It couldn't have been easier. We were able to make ONE change at a cost of £100 per booking, not per person . Agent spoke with Princess by phone, information transferred from one cruise to the other which was actually two days less than original, cost less and had a 'deal'. Deposit transferred over too. So so it can be done in UK but only once. Very appreciative that we could do it as something came up on our original travel date..we weren't doing it to save money /find a price reduction. One of the issues with booking so far out I suppose, but good fortune for us!
crows nest club Posted February 27, 2019 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2019 Quite correct. Has been like this for a while now. Still way behind US ASED cruisers who can re-fare as many times as they want, up to find payment date .
adam7392 Posted February 27, 2019 #3 Share Posted February 27, 2019 Also for UK cruisers on Princess, you can refare the same cruise for the £100 charge. Last month my Med cruise this Summer dropped several hundred £s so I called Princess (I booked direct) and they refared to the new price and I kept my future cruise credit and shareholder credit. As above they said it can only be done the once.
Colo Cruiser Posted February 27, 2019 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2019 Thats bad that you have to pay a fee for what we get for free. ☹️
Reina del Mar Posted February 27, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted February 27, 2019 Agree it is unfair that passengers from USA appear to be able to cancel, rebook, refare etc..sometimes with no loss of (reduced) deposit , when in UK we have to pay for the privilege and are only allowed one amendment. £100 is less than some other travel companies charge for changes to land based holidays bought in this country. Sadly different terms and conditions in different countries.

I say steer clear of bad TA's in the US who charge fees for everything! Big red flag IMO.
