Jezabel2924 Posted March 6, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 6, 2019 One of our family members (first time cruiser) who is traveling with us in two weeks purchased the shipboard airport transfers when they were doing their e-doc check in thinking that it was necessary to safely get to and from the ship. Once they found out that we were doing a tour they called to cancel the $29 transfer and were told that it was in the penalty phase and would not be refunded. We had our TA call and she received the same response. They said it was the same as adding a hotel and could not be refunded and there were no exceptions. She said that she has been booking cruises for 10 years and has never seen this on any other cruiseline. Lesson learned on our part.
bonvoyagie Posted March 6, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 6, 2019 I was asking my TA about transfers for our upcoming cruise. He said they could be made as little as 2 weeks prior to the cruise date. We did not discuss being able to get a refund if we booked them now and then changed our mind so this is good to know. From NCLs side, they need to arrange enough bus space to handle the expected number of people so they would have to have some sort of penalty for canceling at the last minute as they have already booked that space and probably can't resell it.
Nola26 Posted March 8, 2019 #3 Share Posted March 8, 2019 If the tour is with NCL he should be able to just switch and pay the extra. However it sounds like the tour isn't with NCL.
