Zephyr173 Posted March 8, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 8, 2019 Hi dear MSC forum friends. We have a nice booking, a TA from Genoa to Miami, November 2019. Some excursions are included, but I know that I would prefer another in Lisboa. Is it possible to drop, and recover the value of an included excursion? I'm sure I can book something else or even get a private tour, yet I would like to recover the value of a tour we will not use. Specifically, MSC Divina will be docked at Cascais, and we favour a stint to Sintra rather than the included Lisboa city tour.
Rare Beamafar Posted March 8, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 8, 2019 (edited) Hi, Z ... haven't seen you 'round these parts recently. On our recent Armonia cruise there were 2 Havana excursions included in the fare. We were told that, should we wish to change either of them, we would get $50 pp credit towards any other Havana excursion being offered onboard. However, I have a feeling that it was specific to these excursions so YMMV. Edited March 8, 2019 by Beamafar

MSC Divina does not dock in Cascais, which is a small fishing village, it will dock in Lisbon. My sense would be that the offered tour of Lisbon will be take it or leave it...MSC are not known for flexibility. Cascais is very scenic, with a lovely promenade walk to neighbouring Estoril. It is easily reached by train from Lisbon, taking approximately 40 minutes each way. You can get the train to Cascais, and return from Estoril or vice versa. Sintra we have never been to, but it is also easily reached by train from Lisbon.
Zephyr173 Posted March 9, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted March 9, 2019 Hi Bea and Hamrag, Thanks for your kind replies. Any kind of credit would be nice. Bea: I am lurking around, but I do not offer replies that are not based on facts that I have seen first hand. As many discussions revolve around Seaside, Meraviglia and Seaview, I have nothing to share. Perhaps that will change in the future. Ham: you're right that the ship will not dock at Cascais. I was misled by the itinerary map that indicates ¨Lisbon (Cascais)¨, yet the actual text of the itinerary lists Lisbon. So I checked on the port authority's web site and dissipated my misunderstanding.
